The complexes have been characterized by elemental and thermal analysis, IR, electronic and 31 P{ 1 H}-NMR spectroscopy, magnetochemical and conductivity measurements. Single crystal X-ray analysis of [Ni(pe 2 dtc)(dppf)]ClO 4 confirmed a distorted square planar coordination in the NiS 2 P 2 chromophore.
