	abstract = "In December, 1930, Mr. Hansbrough found an area in the Mount Hood National Forest, Oregon, where the fungus, Aleurodiscus amorphus (Pers.) Rabenh, <SUP>2</SUP> was associated with a definite canker (Figure 1) on a high percentage of the stand of suppressed lowland white fir (Abies grandis Lindl.). The infection was so uniformly severe and the cankers were so conspicuous that a brief study of the occurrence and apparent parasitism of the fungus was considered advisable.",
