Abstract:
Growth equations for nonlinear deposition are considered from the perspective of fluid dynamics and the theory of turbulence. A nonlinear equation which conserves mass is found, contrary to current belief (Hwa T and Kardar M 1992 Phys. Rev. A 45 7002), to possess shift symmetry.
