(common chamomile) and <I>Tripleurospermum perforatum</I> (M&eacute;rat) La&iacute;nz (scentless mayweed) is discussed with reference to nomenclatural history, recent typifications, and the provisions of the <I>International Code of Botanical Nomenclature</I>. Justification is presented for the use of the name <I>Matricaria chamomilla</I> L. for common chamomile and the epithet <I>inodorum</I> rather than <I>perforatum</I> for scentless mayweed, both of which have been avoided in much recent literature. Varietal nomenclature of <I>M. chamomilla</I> is addressed, and the combination <I>Tripleurospermum maritimum</I> subsp. <I>inodorum</I> is validated.",
