SUMMARY Leiomyomas of the oesophagus are uncommon, and have not been reported in patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). A case of an oesophageal leiomyoma in an adult infected with HIV is presented.Keywords: human immunodeficiency virus; leiomyoma; oesophagus
